In the fall of 1963 ENGLISH arrived in Florida for a much needed overhaul. After a brief stop in Mayport, we headed up the St. John's River under power of tugs to the Gibbs Shipyard in Jacksonville.

The ship was a mess for some time. The red little boat was what we found floating in the Med and kept it on board.
